Welcome to Black Boar!

About Black Boar

The sword has a central place in European, British and indeed Scots history and the study of its use was sophisticated, scientific and deadly effective. Swordsmanship was a highly prized art. Black Boar Swordsmanship offers you the chance to learn these very same arts.

This martial art is exciting, energertic and skilful, but also rooted in our martial heritage. So if the chance to hold a sabre or smallsword and learn how to use it properly is something you have an interest in and you live in Fife or Edinburgh, you now have the chance to do so.

Anouncement:  Black Boar – Cheshire

Black Boar Swordsmanship School is happy to announce the creation of its third chapter in Cheshire.  Based in Eaton, near Congleton, this third Chapter will be run by Jenny Garside and Dave Banks, practicing the Black Boar Curriculum.

The Black Boar – Cheshire chapter will train on a regular basis on alternate Thursdays from 8pm to 9:30pm, at Eaton Village Hall, in Eaton Near Congleton, starting from Thursday 19th April.

Initially the school will study the art of early French Courtsword, specifically the system of  Liancour.

There will also be bi-monthly workshops on Saturdays, at the same venue given by Instructors from Black Boar Swordsmanship School, the first by Ian Macintyre, on March 31st 2012.  These workshops will provide the drill and techniques required for the regular study sessions.
